Trio to depart Aston Villa as loanee returns.

The transfer window is open now so there is no real shock that the rumour mill is in full swing. As always, there will be plenty of rumours surrounding Villa players who are looking for more regular football while we won’t be short of those who Villa could be interested in.

The Guardian have today looked at what each Premier League club could look to do during the January transfer Window.

Both Arnaut Danjuma and Nicolas Jackson are names that have been mentioned a few times since Unai Emery’s arrival. He has worked with both players from his time with Villareal with Danjuma, in particular, impressing under the Spaniard.

Jackson, at 21 years old has scored just two goals this season but is said to be very highly rated by Emery.

Another name that keeps doing the rounds and in my opinion is very unlikely is Atletico Madrid’s João Félix. Félix has been very hit-and-miss during his time with Madrid as many blame Diego Simeone’s style of play for the main reason. The one big issue with this rumour, clubs who are playing in European competitions will be interested while Madrid are also looking to re-coup as much of the reported £100M they splashed when they signed him.

Potential Departures

It is no real surprise that Frédéric Guilbert and Morgan Sanson are both expected to depart this month. Guilbert has been told his contract will not be renewed at the end of the season. It’s up to the French man if he wants to see out his contract or move during this window.

Sanson has really struggled to make an impact under three different managers since his move from Marseille in 2021. This one is a strange one because Emery praised the Frenchman back in November before the world cup: “Morgan’s done very well in the days that we have been in the training ground. I think he’s a good player.

“He was injured and out of matches but I think he can help us. On Sunday, for example in the last minute, he kept the position he usually plays and his skills were good to help us.”

Sanson hasn’t featured since but was named as an unused substitute in the win over Tottenham on New Year’s Day.

Marvelous Nakamba is another who could look for pastures new as he has struggled to feature under Emery.

Sinisalo returns

Viljami Sinisalo has returned to Villa following an unsuccessful loan spell with Burton Albion in League 1. He made just eight appearances during the loan spell.

It is expected that loan manager, Mile Jedinak will now seek a more successful loan spell for the second half of the season for the Finland international.
