Middlesbrough's new model might rely on player trading in order to grow the club on and off the pitch, but even within that plan the speed at which Morgan Rogers comes and goes will mean his significance – or more so the significance of his move – is far larger than his legacy. Rogers will depart Boro for Aston Villa just six months after his arrival. A Boro legend he certainly won't be – with the club not benefitting from his growth for nearly as long as they would usually hope to within their model.
