Potential new Aston Villa badge causes uproar online

There has been plenty of ups on the field at Villa Park this season but off it hasn’t been as rosy. Since the departure of Christian Purslow and the appointment of Chris Heck Villa fans have been left upset by rising ticket prices, the shirt sponsor and the new corporate areas within the Holte End.

Tonight, an image surfaced from the Aston Villa trademark page on the Intellectual Property Office website where Aston Villa have submitted what looks likely to be their new page.

Potential new Aston Villa badge

You only have to look at the multiple social media platforms to see the views of Aston Villa fans with some asking why we have wasted money on a poorer version of our original recent badge. Others asking why the badge, which was voted for by fans last season will be cast to one side at the end of the current campaign.

Members of the Aston Villa Fans Advisory Board have recently contacted the Football Association to express their concerns as the club hasn’t carried out sufficient consultation.

The round badge which can be found on this year’s kit was voted for by 22,000 supporters in 2022 but only 16,000 fans got involved in the voting for this badge as many believed it had become a farce.

It’s such a shame that when Villa have an opportunity to do something great on the field, those off the field are causing such a divide within the club.
