Maz Pacheco commits future to Aston Villa Women

Carla Ward has made the next step in her attempts to build a successful team for the upcoming Women’s Super League by convincing Maz Pacheco to commit her future to Aston Villa Women.

The left-back has committed her future to the end of the 2025 season.

Maz signed for Aston Villa in the summer of 2021 from West Ham, signing a 2-year deal and she has since made 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring her first goal last season in the 11-0 win in the FA Cup fourth round against Fylde.

The 24-year-old recorded a season-best of 3 assists in the WSL last season and was a fan favourite at the back. There were some calls for her form to earn an England call-up, which still hasn’t come, sadly.

Villa fans will be excited to see what the new season brings for the left-back and see if she can further increase her numbers and have another season’s best performance.

The defender is the second player to commit their future to the club as French midfielder Kenza Dali committed her future earlier in the summer.

Head coach, Ward has had an excellent summer where recruitment is concerned. She has been able to convince some key players to stay whilst adding some exciting young talent.

Villa, who finished fifth last season, will be hoping that can close the gap on the top four in the 2023/24 campaign.
