Georgia Mullet pens first pro contract with Aston Villa Women

With the transfer window now closed no more signings can be made until January. However, Carla Ward is looking to the start of the season and further increasing numbers in the squad. She has looked to the U21s for further talent and on the day of her 18th birthday offered Georgia Mullett her 1st professional contract.

The young forward had a successful season for the U21’s last season in the WSL Academy scoring 21 goals in as many appearances and assisting 4. Her form saw her be included in the 1st team squad on multiple occasions. She made her 1st team debut in November 2022 in the 3-1 win over Reading at Villa Park before making further 2 appearances in all competitions through the rest of the season.

Mullett has been included with the 1st team squad during pre-season featuring in all the friendlies so far, even scoring against Valencia when the teams played in Spain. She has now committed her future to Villa by signing her 1st professional contract, with the length of the contract unknown fans are hoping she stays at the club for many years to come.

It has now been confirmed that she will be in the first team squad this season and will be wearing the number 18 shirt, which last season was worn by Freya Gregory who this season has changed her number to 11 and gone out on loan to Reading for further experience.

I’m sure, like myself, fans will be hoping for the young forward to be as successful as the other talented players that have been brought in from the youth system such as Olivia McLaughlin, Freya Gregory, Sarah Mayling, and Ebony Salmon. Hopefully, she will feature many times this season and show everyone the talent she possesses that Carla Ward has seen in her to progress her career further.
