Aston Villa haven’t had the greatest start to their 2022/23 campaign under Steven Gerrard, winning only twice in seven Premier League matches so far, with the international break coming at a perfect time. Since joining Villa in November 2021, Gerrard has won just 12 league matches and despite some impressive summer transfer business – bringing in the likes of Boubacar Kamara and the injured Diego Carlos – it hasn’t quite clicked for the 42-year-old this season.
