It feels like months since Aston Villa smashed Premier League Champions Liverpool 7-2 due to a never-ending, boring International break. Its actually been two weeks and Villa are finally back in action as they end to the East Midlands to take on Leicester City.

Leicester have picked up nine from a possible twelve points in the Premier League so far this season, including a very impressive 2-5 victory over Manchester City. Last time out they were beaten in what I thought was a shock result to the hands of West Ham United at home.

Villa have as many points as Brendon Rodgers men having played a game less. Despite Villa’s fantastic victory over Liverpool last time out, the media seemed to focus on how poor Liverpool were instead of how good Dean Smith’s men were. We may just get the credit one day, eh?

Leicester won’t be any easier this time around though. They are a well-drilled side who are more than capable of destroying their opposition on their given day. They do tend to struggle at defending set-pieces and counter-attacks so this could be areas that Villa looks to exploit.

TEAM NEWS

Villa have no fresh injury concerns despite Douglas Luiz, Conor Hourihane and John McGinn featuring heavily for their countries during the international break.

The only long term casualties remain to be Wesley and Tom Heaton who posted a comeback picture on their social media channels earlier this week.

Leicester will be without Wilfred Ndidi and Danilo Pereira, while Jonny Evans, James Maddison and Daniel Amartey will all face late fitness tests.

Caglar Soyuncu is another who is struggling so Wesley Fofana could make his debut following his £30m transfer earlier this month.

Aston Villa are looking to win their opening four league matches of a season for the first time since 1930. They went on to finish second in the top flight that season.

Leicester have won four of their last five Premier League meetings with Aston Villa.

PREDICTION

Nobody saw what we witnessed at Liverpool coming and despite Leicester having their injury issues, it will still be a very difficult encounter.
