The chief executive of Aston Villa has warned that implementing the recommendations of the fan-led review into football would risk “killing the golden goose” of the Premier League. The review, led by Tracey Crouch MP, called for the introduction of an independent regulator and a 10 per cent levy on top-flight transfers, to enable an administrator to redistribute £160 million a year down the football pyramid.
