Nottingham Forest had a disaster when they failed in their attempts to sign John McGinn back in 2017. The Scotsman who is now a key player at Aston Villa was at Hibernian at the time and was linked with Forest. As per BBC Sport (via Nottingham Forest News), the Reds had a £750k bid turned down with Hibs saying that they needed to improve their offer if they wanted to sign him.
